Jack Payne grew up in Holland, MI, where he developed an affinity for fishing and hunting alongside his father's influence and access to a small creek. In the early 2000s, he started writing on a lark due to some crazy hunting trips and happenings. Since then, he has been published in many weekly newspapers and publications such as "Fur, Fish and Game," "Fishing and Hunting News," "Michigan Sportsman Forum," "Midwest Outdoors," "Sportsman's Guide," "Wood 'N Water News," and he has even been republished on ESPN.

Jack's love of eating spawned a love of experimenting with food, talking with folks, and trying different recipes. His cooking was significantly influenced by his good friend, Ron Semer, who was a chef. Ron would share his knowledge and recipes as Jack furnished the game and fish. They enjoyed the end results, and a new hobby was born.

Jack is also a well-seasoned real estate associate broker with Best Homes of Michigan. He has been in the business since 2006 and has sold property in the Upper Peninsula, Ludington, Baldwin, Canadian Lakes, Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa Counties. Jack loves to solve problems, think outside the box, and get the best deal for his clients. Like hunting and fishing, he also enjoys "the chase" of finding the right buyer for every listing. Additionally, he offers moving assistance to any of his senior citizen clients!

​Jack now resides in Zeeland, MI, with his wife, where they raised two children, with whom he also shares his love for the outdoors.
